Parallaxe is being further developed as an applied R&D project in collaboration with the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute (HHI). The collaboration focuses on building an AI mediation system that can operate in real-world settings – combining robust engineering with clear interaction design and transparent handling of verifiable claims.
What the R&D work focuses on
AI mediation for polarised dialogue
Parallaxe explores how AI can support structured conversations across opposing political views – prioritising de-escalation and understanding over debate performance.
Neutral reformulation and clarifying follow-ups
The system is designed to reformulate statements in a neutral tone and ask targeted questions that clarify assumptions, definitions, and points of disagreement.
Translation across languages
Parallaxe supports multilingual dialogue – enabling participation across different linguistic and cultural contexts.
Source-based context where claims are checkable
When a claim is verifiable and a solid evidence basis exists, the system adds transparent, source-based context – without overreaching into opinion.
The collaboration strengthens Parallaxe as a research-led prototype with a clear path toward robust public pilots in cultural and institutional environments.
